Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newcomer to the sport, the Rio Grande Valley has plenty to offer disc golfers. From beginner-friendly parks to championship-level layouts, you’ll find a variety of courses, shops, and local communities to keep your passion for disc golf alive. Cameron County Disc Golf Courses

Monte Bella Park – Brownsville, TX (UDisc)

  • 21-hole course
  • Mix of open and wooded holes
  • Some areas lack shade, mostly flat
  • Mix of concrete and turf pads
  • Multiple teepads per hole

Dixieland Park – Harlingen, TX (UDisc)

  • 18-hole course
  • Mostly open with some elevation changes
  • Concrete pads
  • Ranked as my 2nd favorite course in the Valley

McKelvey Park – Harlingen, TX (UDisc)

  • Pop-up 8-hole course
  • Available only during events

Shops in Cameron County

  • Academy – Harlingen, TX – Some discs and bags available
  • New Sun Racing – Valle Vista Mall, Harlingen, TX – Carries Innova Discs at the best prices in the Valley for premium plastic
  • DICK’S – Brownsville, TX – Limited selection, mostly Innova
  • Some Walmart locations carry discs

Hidalgo County Disc Golf Courses

Pacific Trails – Elsa, TX (UDisc)

  • 12-hole course
  • Teepads not installed yet (as of last update)

Isaac Rodriguez – Weslaco, TX (UDisc)

  • 9-hole course with player-made back 9
  • Concrete teepads
  • Watch out for walking paths and playground
  • Includes putting baskets for practice
  • My personal favorite 9-hole course in the Valley

Daffodil Park – McAllen, TX (UDisc)

  • 9-hole course with lots of shade
  • Concrete teepads
  • Local favorite with frequent mini tournaments

Green Jay (McAllen Disc Golf Course) – McAllen, TX (UDisc)

  • 18-hole championship-level course
  • Multiple teepads per hole
  • Widely considered the best course in the Valley

Lion’s Park – San Juan, TX (UDisc)

  • Pop-up event course
  • Fun layout during special events

Cenizo Park – Edinburg, TX (UDisc)

  • 9 holes with concrete teepads
  • Better of the two Edinburg courses, but holes not well-marked

Memorial Park – Edinburg, TX (UDisc)

  • 9-hole layout
  • Tight fairways, may not be ideal for beginners

Shops in Hidalgo County

  • The Valley Disc Golf Store – 1418 Beech Ave #101, McAllen, TX – Locally owned by knowledgeable players
  • Sweet Azz Glass – 905 W Farm to Market 495 #4, San Juan, TX – Disc golf store and smoke shop, owner is a skilled glassblower
  • Some Walmart and Academy locations carry discs

Disc Golf Groups in the RGV

  • RGV Disc Golfers (Facebook) – Largest local disc golf group, great for finding buddies and events
  • 956 Disc Golf (Facebook) – Hosts mini tournaments, including pop-ups at Lion’s Park

Tips for Playing in the RGV

  • Stay hydrated and bring sunscreen, as some courses have minimal shade
